Our guest speaker today has a broad background - LEE RUDAKEWYCH is a resident of Glenside since 1982. His daughter, Alexis, attended Cedarbrook Middle School and Cheltenham High before going on to Boston University. A journalism graduate of Temple University, Lee had a career spanning four decades and four continents. At home, he worked as a staff reporter and editor at The Associated Press, United Press International, New York Times News Service, The Evening Bulletin, and Reuters. Abroad, he covered four wars from 1971-75: as a freelance reporter and photographer in Vietnam, Bangladesh and the Middle East, and as bureau chief of The Associated Press and ABC News in Cambodia. Before returning home, he also wrote features on Australian Woman’s Day magazine and the daily front-page column on The Sydney Morning Herald. Lee presented background info, and a presentation about a Christian family in Pakastan that was forced to become refugees - given the choice to convert to Islam or be killed. He is working to help this family to become self-sufficient in their new home in the Philippines. To see Lee's Presentation: meet_the_bashirs.pdf
