President Norma will host a service committee meeting at her home in Upper Dublin on July 25 to begin a discussion on more involvement in local, as well as international service projects. Pizza and soda/iced tea will be provided, and Norma is currently reaching out to community contacts to determine what the local needs are. Everyone in the club is welcome to attend. If you are an organization that provides service, please contact us before the meeting at glensiderotary@gmail.com (or use Contact Form on this site) so we can discuss your projects as well. Glenside Rotary is committed to become much more involved in local service projects, in addition to those we already support. Please get in touch so you can help us to help you!
Current club projects include providing funds to maintain the Rotary Circle in front of Penny's Flowers in Keswick Villiage, Thanksgiving Turkey and Dinner Baskets for Cheltenham families in need, financial and volunteer support for the Special Olympics Volleyball Tournament in Bryn Athyn, Student of the Month Service Above Self Awards for local middle school students, support for Rotary Youth Exchange students, and support for Rotary Youth Leadership Award weekend event for local high school students. We worked with Chestnut Hill Rotary in 2014-2016 to get funding and build a playground at Gaudenzia House in Mt. Airy (a rehab facility that allows moms to bring up to 2 children with them while they are residents of the facility).
